I recently had DNA testing through Family Tree DNA of Houston which connected me to Aeldert -> Arie -> Evert -> Arie -> Johannes (1742). I was told that the suggested Jewish connection is totally refuted by the DNA.

I am off to Albany NY & Ulster Co on Monday to try to find the missing generations between Johannes (1742) & my gg grandfather, Mason ROSE bn 1830 in NY. Any suggestions on researching in the area?
