Looking for Roope family information. Original spelling was Roop. Have traced it back to Christian Roop, circa 1850, but go no further. His son, Andrew Roop, George Calloway Roop, Hoyle Ralph Roope, and then me (Jerry Ralph Roope). My Father always told me, as I have also heard the story from some distant Roops, that we descended from five (5) brothers, who all came to America (from where ?) and settled in the VA, TN, NC area. My family is from Wilkes County, NC. Any information would be appreciated.
