My Grandfathers name was Joe Rooney. His Parents were Frank Rooney and Martha Owens married name Rooney. They had six children. Naomi, May, Ruth, Morris, Roy, Joe. She had two children before they married by the surname of Settles. Nigel and Jim. Joe Rooney has some confusion around his name. It seems that there is some story about him never beeing named and people calling him boy in the beginning. Then there is the story he told about his name being Boyd and him changing it to Joe. While his wife and my Grandmother says it was on his birthcertificate as Frank which was his father's name also. Also, his Mom Martha Owens and himself were mad at each other for 7 years and would not talk because he literally disappeared for 7 years? He would never say what he was doing? Love to know. I also know he had another wife before Betty and had a son to which no one wants to find. Again I would love to know info. So much more info I have but will have to go for now.
