I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

For Bernard Rooney B ???? the earliest B rcd in Co. Armagh is in 1822.

For Ann Thomson B 1800 +/- 4 yrs in Co. Armagh, there are 2 B rcds: 1800 and 1804.

For Hugh Rooney B 1836 (exact) ditto with a father named Bern(ard?), there are two B rcds. One of these MAY be your ancestor.

For Hugh Rooney M 1860 +/- 4 yrs ditto, I found 11 M rcds.

For Mary O'Neill M ditto, I found 208 M rcds. Will leave it to you to match the yr & cnty for Hugh with those for Mary. If you find match(es), you can then screen to see if there is a match on the parish.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Pls post your results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
