I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

For Bernard Rooney B ???? with a father named Henry in Co. Down, I found 0 B rcds. With the father's name left blank, there are 47 B rcds, 15 within your timeline 1840-1885. Suggest you find his parents' names on census rcds or naturalization papers.

There are 0 M rcds in Co. Down for the name Sabina Davis and the same using an "all Ireland" search.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Pls post your results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
