Cecy & All - I am a descendant of Hiram Rookwood born in Virginia, moved to Kentucky, and then settled in Shelby MO 1833. I am recent to the family lineage quest and too am having troubles learning the real parents and beyond of Hiram. Since this posting comes well after your original query, I'm hoping you and or the community have advanced well beyond this period of time and can shed some light on the matter.

Further, have you or anyone come across a set of novels depicting "The Rookwood Family" which had been commissioned in the 19th century? My father inherited a set as a boy, but unfortunately they were accidentally destroyed. I've tried the Library of Congress without success, most likely due its private production.

Any information you or any one has is greatly appreciated.
