Thanks. Yes, Polk County is next to Dade County. It's interesting that you also have Mitchells in your family. So do I. There might be a connection somewhere. My Rook(Frances)was second wife to Robert Eli Garrison. They were married in 1860 in Johnstown, Bates County, Missouri. She was born around 1840 in Grainger County, Tennessee. She passed away in Humansville, Polk County, Missouri. I believe she was daughter to Willis Rook (b. 1808) and Rebecca Carroll (b. 1808) both from Grainger County, Tennessee. They were married in 1829. Other children include Jesse (1831), Mary (1833), Melissa (1835/36), James (1838), Frances (about 1838), Jane (1842), Hamilton (1844), Melinda (1846), Martha (1848), Louisa (1852). Half were born in Grainger County, Tennessee and the other half Polk County, Missouri. In addition, a Lucy (1791-1865) was living with this family in 1860. She might be a sister-in-law. I found a Hezekiah Rook (1792) of Tennessee who married a Susanna Lucinda Watson of Virginia (about 1812). Hezekiah might be a sibling or very young parent.
