Hi Tonya.
You are welcome.

I don't have any documentation on the Dutlerows so what comes next is my conjecture.

I checked the 1840 and 50 Censuses and comparing them I have a couple scenarios to suggest.

First is that I believe it possible that your William Benjamin bc 1848 was a late born son of Priscilla's parents, Jacob and Rebecca Dutlerow. However they both would have been age 54 at his birth. More likely is that William was a grand-son of J&R.

If William WAS a grand-son then he COULD have been a son of Priscilla. That scenario presents some difficulties. In 1850 Priscilla has the surname of Dutlerow. That COULD indicate that she was actually a daughter-in-law of Jacob and therefore a Widow. OR if Priscilla was a daughter of J&R and William was her son then he would have to be illigit.

The 1840 Census in my opinion supports the idea that Priscilla was a daughter of J&R even though she is not named.

Therefore I believe that William was her brother and that when she married Nathan Roof they both "Adopted" him which is clearly shown on his Death Cert. in Michigan.

Don't know if that helps any but hope it does.
Yours
