Glenn Dale Rood, 49, of Bedford, died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1953 in Hunnington, WV, a son of the late William W. Rood and Velma Lucille Ray Rood.

He was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Cardwell and a brother, Paul Adkins.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Karen M. Rood; a daughter, Charity “Jo-onna” Rood Mitchen and her husband, Robert of Big Island; a son, Jeffrey Allen Monroe of Norfolk; a sister, Barbara Adkins and a brother, Ronald Rood and his wife, Lisa all of Bedford; two grandchildren, Juanita Mitchen and Cassie Mitchen all of Bedford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider R.U. Addictions Program, c/o Timberlake Baptist Church, 21395 Timberlake Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24502.

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM, Friday, August 23, 2002 at Timberlake Baptist Church with the Pastor James H. Alley, Pastor Travis Witt and Rev. Ben Burks, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
