I was looking for a place to put this information; I hope you can still use it. I am downsizing and getting rid of a lot of information which is not on my own lines. This was from a Kentucky newspaper concerning Fulton County Pioneer Families by Harry W. Mills, of Florida:

"Roney - This family's ancestors came from ireland and settled in Virginia in early times, later of record in Tennessee. Milton Roney, born in Robinson County, TN, died in Carroll County, that state. The maiden name of his wife was Finley."

"Their son W. S. Roney, was born in Carroll County, EN, 1855; he was a Baptist minister, a Democrat and member of the Masonic Lodge."

"W.S. Roney moved to Kentucky, settling first in Graves County, and in 1889 moved to Fulton County, KY. He married Melissa Barnes, born Tennessee, 1857, died in Kentucky, 1884. Children: (1) Edna Roney, married J. L. Greer of Alabama. (2) J.W. Roney, married Grace Helm, daughter of G.N. And Annie (Robinson) Helm. (3) John H. Roney, of Missouri. (4) Robert B. Roney of Hickman, KY."

I realize this doed not give information about Milton's parents, but maybe a check in Robinson County, TN will help.
