Found out who Missiour Wells Roney's Parents are. They were the founders of Newville, AL. John Wells named the town Wells, AL. but they changed the name to Newville because the mail between Wills, AL and Wells, AL kept getting mixed up. I found a family there in Newville that had a picture of John and Missiour. However their house burned down in Oct 2004. I was lucky that a gentleman in Carrolton, GA (David Griffin) took a photo of this picture 20 years ago. We are currently making prints of his negative. We are excited to have 5 generations of photos.
I am searching a lot about family History.
Here is the line I am from:
Me -- Brennan Andrew Roney
Dad -- Fred Albert Roney
His Dad -- Fred Horace Roney
His Dad -- Cleveland Homer Roney
His Dad -- Jasper Newton Roney
His Dad -- John Roney (buried in Newville, AL) with wife Missiour Wells Roney
His Dad -- Hugh Roney -- Neat records were found on Hugh and Nancy from the old church records found in Henry County.
His Dad -- Maurice Roney
Now I am back to 1779 where there is a record of Maurice living in SC south of Greensboro.
I am trying to connect maurice to the Roney's that lived just east of Greensboro and that can be traced back to Ireland and came over in 1678 but I have nto been able to make this connection yet.
I know Hugh was named after his Uncle Hugh from the stories told. So I am hoping to keep researching till I can prove this.
