Rone family, southern US, and one origin of name
I am William Michael Rone, my father was William Roy Rone, born in Booneville, Mississippi 1907 (Died Dec. 1968) He was one of five brothers. One brother's name was Rodney, who owned a dairy farm. Another brother had the initials of L.C. Rone. I believemost if not all five brothers served in the military, probably the Navy.
My mother was Isabella P. McGinn-Rone. Born in Pensacola, Fl. in 1909 (died April 1984). Her father was James Michael McGinn. Had one known sister named Lillian.
If anyone has further information, please email me.
An "genealogy expert" looked up the family name, says that Rone is derived from the Mulrooney clan from Ireland. I know that we have Irish roots, but have no other evidence of that truth.
