Sorry for the long delay in replying. I suppose that the first thing that you need to establish is what area in Ireland John Ronan and Mary Grady came from. There is a cluster of Ronan/Ronaynes in South Mayo/North Galway but these are not connected to the Ronan/Ronaynes in Cork/Waterford. The Grady/O'Grady name can be found all the way from Cork to Sligo.
The upshot is that your ancestors could have come from the Mayo/Galway area or from the Cork/Waterford area. A search of the Ellis Island records might be a good starting point.
That's not much help but, if you come up with anything that suggests that they came from Galway/Mayo, let me know and I'll see if I can help.
