Hi Chris. While doing research on my Cadegan ancestors from the Glace Bay and Bridgeport sections of Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia, I decided to check MapQuest to check out the area where they had lived. Lo and behold, in the Bridgeport section, I found a CADEGAN Drive. My GG Grandfather, Patrick Cadegan, who lived in Bridgeport, married a Mary Ronan in Nov 1847. I looked also for a Ronan Drive in the area but no such luck. However, after looking at your post I thought I would check for a street named Phalen nearby as it seems all of the streets in this area are family names. Sure enough, there is a Phalen Rd. about two blocks from Cadegan Drive. I can only hope that possibly we have a connection here. In U.S. census it has Mary's place of birth as New York but this could be a mistake as the Beaton institute had her marriage in the Ronayne file, which was an established family on Cape Breton. My Mary would have been born about the same time as Honora. Is Ronan her maiden name or a middle name? Any connections here? Thanks, Gene.
