Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Chris

some how to site:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/how-to/
http://genrootsblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/german-immigrant-an...
www.rootsweb.com/~polwgw/index.html

We do start with a location. Try and experiment in http://www.herby.com.pl/ click on SLOWNIKA NAZWISK; make sure you use a wild card % or * for a Polish letter that has a special character; use first 3 letters of the surname click on SZUKAJ;
example: ROME*S
When you find a "fit" than listen to its pronouncation http://ivona.com

You know about you and have document;
you know about your father; your father's church baptismal record should have his parents names and a place of birth.
Your father's father is your grandfather and thus the person who came to America from Austria [Galicia and Silesia were in historical Austria].
