Patricia! William Green Romans was my Great Great Grandfather . I have more. His father was Phillip Romans II Mother Elizabeth Doyety.

Phillip Green Roman II was son of Phillip Green Romans I and Helen Grant Romans, both Phillips were born in Bowling Green Kentucky.

We have a couple of letters and a sort of log that William Green Romans kept on his trip to California. Family history has it that he and a friend name Earp left for California on horseback but joined up with a wagon train. We did not know who Earp was, but we knew that he was considerably older than Wyatt.

William stayed in Placerville for a while and eventually returned to his family in Iowa. (wife Mahala John Miller, children Mary Frances (my Great grandmother) Sarah Anthus, Asbury Dennim,[we have Asbury spelled two ways] Virgil Porter, Martha Caroline, Bertha Evelyn, Emma, Ann, Willie and Andrew James. List is hard to read Andrew James might be two people.

Looks like we may be third cousins twice removed.

Jan Penney
