This is an addendum to my original post. As I understand it, the area of Transylvania (Darlos, Ibasfalu, Sibiu) was a possession of Hungary until it was ceded to Romania following WWI. However, if I understand correctly, vital records (if they exist at all) are held locally by each town ship or municipality. Accordingly, these records would most likely be found in the towns in which the events (Birth, Death, and Marriage) took place.

The individuals I am most interested in finding information on are the following people:

Teodor Ibasfalean b. 1876 in Somogyom, Hungary
Miklos (nicolie) Ibasfalean b. 1866 in Medias, Hungary
Zaharie Ibasfalean b. 1866 in Darlos, Hungary
Cleonic Ibasfalean b. 11 June 1895/6 in Darlos, Hungary
Anna Ibasfalean b. 21 May 1894 Darlos, Hungary

I know Teodor and Zaharie are brothers, and I know Cleonic and Anna are children of Zaharie, but I don't know how or if Miklos is related to this family. Furthermore, I would like to find information in regard to the parents of Zaharie and Teodor, and possible children for Teodor.

In addition to this information, my understanding of the name Ibasfalean is as follows: the suffix "eanu" indicates a surname taken after a place of origin. Therefore, the earliest Ibasfalean ancestors would have derived from the modern city of Dumbraveni (before 1945 Ibaşfalău; German: Elisabethstadt; Saxon dialect: Eppeschdorf; Hungarian: Erzsébetváros). So, in addition to Medias and Darlos, this would be a city where potential Ibasfalean could be found.

Hope this clarifies what I am looking for. Any information on these individuals or any other Ibasfalean family members would be great.

Thanks in advance!
