Thanks-John D. Sockaci of New Brighton,PA is my grandfather. I have sent for the Social Security form. No reply yet.I also sent for a complete listing of all US Govt records from the Dept of Homeland Security and have acknowledgement from them that they have received my request. He was naturalized in the US Army in 1917 at Camp Perry, OH. I am going to try to find those papers. I had also found all of those persons that you have listed and I have been looking in the Romanian phone book and did find several Socaci's,Socaciu's,and Szakacs's( also a few Tescula's but no Regula's) in Mures county. I found that an American church has been to Soard on a mission trip and they have posted pictures. I am going to contact them to see if there are still any people of the above names in the village. My grandfather did return in 1966 and came back with a few pictures(unlabeled). Big difference between then and now. It appears the village is now populated by very poor Romi and the cottages are in a state of collapse. My aunt found some addresses in my grandfathers passport papers along with three letters that I am going to have translated. How does one find an honest ,reputable Romanian researcher to obtain records from the church/county seat?
