A lot of Jews migrated from Romania to Israel, so you might have some luck if you look that way for sources of information as they are probably more accesible than Romanian ones.
Looking in Romanian White Pages at
http://www.paginialbe.ro/ I found 49 Schwartz families in Bucharest, 10 in Timisoara, 1 in Constanta, 2 in Brasov, etc.
You can track your US lineage a lot better due to many easy accesible sources. As a starter, try using this one:
