Zltica is right. But Guilvaz, population about 1400 had other names and was about 30% German-Austrian. Hungarian
name was Torontalgyulvesz.Check "Djulwes"in LDS/Mormon recs
for films. Giulvaz, 20 miles SW of Temeswar, had a RR stat-
ion, postal code is 1939. Use <Shtetlseeker-towns>,(when it
is working), to get good map of the area- ZOOM in! I found a Miovac family that came from there, going to Roseau, Nor.
Minnesota. Johan/John was in Ancestry's WW I draft registra
tions...town was spelled Julaves, not correct. The surname
Miovac was something else and I can't find any in Ellis Isl
or other landing posts...supposedly born in 1880's, arrived
in early 1900's. Again, Shtetlseeker & LDS on this & nearby
villages is the avenue to pursue!!! Many men came over to
dodge being drafted into Austro-Hung. Army.
