Just an update: I've found that one of my cousins inherited a lot of old family papers and photos, and he has been sharing his information with me. One of the most important developments is that I now have names for my grandmother's parents. My grandmother Rosa Paskar was the daughter of Leo and Eftinca Paskar, who are said to have come from Transylvania (though I'm not sure about that). We also have the names Helen, Dominica, Anastasia, and John, who I think were probably my grandmother's sisters and brother.

Still not a lot to go on, but it's more than I had before.
