That makes more sense changing the surname in "new land" and not in "old country".
ZDROBA to STROBER sort of similar sounding.
Did find ZDROBA in Cluj Napoca's phone book.
The husband/father could have come thru Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia, Galveston or Canada.
What about Vasile ZDROBA? He was going to Dayton, Ohio, married and was naturalized citizen. Tudor was naturalized citizen also. I am sure you noticed the numbers by the name on the manifest.
