dear Zlatica:

Thank you for your reply!
1. Thanks for the site for the town locator. I found a HOZMAN in Romania, but don't know if this is in Bukovina. I do presume that Ft was Fort. Perhaps in translation, and being passed down to the children they heard Hozman as Kozman ..... Something to check out! Thanks!

2. Ellis Island -- no. Went to Toronto first, then came into the US in 1916 (US census) to Detroit, MI, then settled in Flint by 1920(the family says). By 1930 he was naturalized, so I will try to get his papers. I think this is probably the best clue.

3. He died in 1935, before Social Security was in place, leaving a wife Gravyluk; Garvyluk; Garvyluki? and six children to raise alone!

4. The family attended a Greek Orthodox Church in Flint. I'm waiting for a call back from them about possible info at the church/cemetery level.

Thanks for your reply and assistance!

Sincerely,
Marilyn Arnold
