The present Slovak Republic had two villages named Hosszufalu. At present one village is called Dlha and the other Dlha nad Vahom (river Vah).

I looked on the manifest and I noticed that he said that he is Slovak. So than your research would take you to Slovak Republic and not Romania.
The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed the church records so you can gather ancestral information off of.
