Maybe the name was "americanized" a bit.

The Romanian phone site is at http://www.whitepages.ro
Found a name PUNTO, PINTO, PINTOIU,PENTO and PANTA.


Anyway to locate a naturalization papers or any kind of a record to give a name? You do need a name of a town in order to research beyond the borders.

The Ellis Island website is listing 31 PONTOs but none of them have that they are Romanian.
