Basarabia was Romania until 1939.From 1939 it was Russia until 1942. After that it was Romania. After 1944 it was part Romania, part Russia. After 1991 it's part Romania, part Moldavia, part Uckrain(). The city you are looking for now is not in Romania now. Try Moldavia or Uckrain.
