Hello Nancy--Just came across a 1999 print-out (I keep things for future reference)
I do not know if this is a connection--there is "Quote" posted by--george phillips <geogwen@in-tch.com> grandparents and father are from Bobota and mother from Campia--info seems to be the same as yours--father came to US in 1910 when he was 17 years old.
Re the spelling of the last name have relatives of my own who spell it Philip--Phillips
