Hello!

"Mihaltian" could be a well spelled Romanian last name. It is quite unusual (I never heard it) but not impossible.

I suggest you make a search in the Romanian White Pages directory on the Web
http://www.whitepages.ro/

It is a very efficient data base but almost no one genealogist seems to use it.

In your case, i finded some "Mihaltianu" in Bucharest.
Some tips for searching:

- use jokers ( % ) for characters you ar unsure or some wich could be differnt spelled in Romanian: k, y, w
Ex: If you seek "Mikael" use "Mi%ael" in stead because in Romanian "k" is often "c"
Also: in your search avoid k, y, w (or another chars) - replace them with %
- repeat the search for all Counties

Good luck!
George
