Jaworenko surname is certainly Slavic and most likely from Ukraine. "ko" ending is consistent with Ukrainian surnames. Javor = Maple. Yaworenko is almost certainly americanized version of Jaworenko surname and was most likely changed to preserve original pronunciation.
