Didn't mention the surname Stanley.
In my reply wrote Stanavich was probably of South Slavic origin.
Romanian is a Romance language like French and Italian and not a South Slavic language.

South Slavic (Croatian, Serbian, Slovenian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Old Church Slavonic)
