I don't know Romanian (though I read French and they're actually fairly similar) but I have taught myself how to read old German script or "Gothik" script. It is very slow going but I've managed to translate (from gobbledigook into German) some old documents from my grandfather. If you like I'll take a stab at your postcards! I might be able to read a bit of the Romanian as well...

Also, an historian friend in Vienna has been successful in reading the script too. Maybe I can e-mail them to him to translate if I can't manage.
