My great grandmother was Ruby Lee Oakley, and was born somewhere between 1900 and 1910. Her family, I am told, was from Missouri or Illinois, and there are still some of the Oakley's living in Missouri, around Branson. I am trying to find her family and maybe get some more information about her, but basically locate what would be cousins to me. She married Amos Rollo and they had three children, Joyce Clifton (male), Milton (male) and Maryanne. All three of her children are now deceased, as is Ruby. I am told she married very young and had her children probably in Alabama while living with her first husband Amos, who was a coal miner. She later remarried Eugene Simpson, and they lived in AL for years after he retired. That is where they are both buried.
She had a brother named Paul. Paul Oakley had 5 kids - Frank, Jimmy, Johnnie, Bobby and Ann. They used to live in Cahokia, IL but left (maybe) around 1968. My uncle does not know where they might be. I am told that someone from the Oakley clan kept in touch with Maryanne and would stop to visit her on their way to Florida from time to time. Of course, with Maryanne gone, they have lost touch with them.
I am trying to leave as many details about this side of the family since Ruby's origins seem to be a mystery that we have had a time solving. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
