In the way of introduction, I am Janice Rolison Farren. My father was George E. Rolison, son of George E. Rolison, son of Benjamin Franklin, son of George Rolison (1817). My family has researched the Rolison/Megg/Tubbs/Fleming line for many years and I have noticed your genealogy information online. I have recently come across information on George Rolison and Pheriba Rials. As you probably recall Pheriba Rials was the first wife of George Rolison. They were married Jan 5, 1835 and remained married until her death in 1850-51. A recently study of the early marriage documents for Alabama shows that Pheriba Rials surname was Beals, not Rials. This is a very credible group and after looking at the original document feel they are correct in their determination. For many years we have searched for the Rials connection and both in South Carolina and Alabama to no avail. This has been very troubling to us since there appear to be very few Rials in either place. I have done a preliminary search for Beals in the counties associated with George and Pheriba Rolison and have found Beals in Salem, Alabama (Dallas County). As you probably recall Salem, Alabama is where George Rolison worked as a station agent for the A&M Railroad--so this connect is interesting if nothing else. I am providing you this new clue as so you can be on the lookout in your research for the Beals/Rolison connection.
I am sincerely,
Jan Rolison Farren
