Our surname project so far has identified 21 genetically distinct lines of Rowland/Roland and resolved 2 family stories of illegitimacy. The more info we collect, the easier it becomes to make connections!
For those interested in DNA testing to enhance their genealogical research, Family Tree DNA has just announced a special holiday pricing on certain tests! For instance, the 37 marker YDNA test is priced less than the 25 marker test and is only slightly more than the 12 marker test. Tests must be paid for by 31 Dec 2008.
Would make a cool gift for that guy who has everything (plus would help the family genealogist too!).
