My Rohde family was originally in Denmark -- that part of current Germany that has been going back and forth between the Germans and the Danes for a long time. My g-g-grandmother was Dorothea Margaretha Rohde, born in 1822 in Schulp (a small village northwest of Hamburg near the North Sea). Her parents were Peter Rohde and Wiebke Catherina Horn. Dorothea married Peter Nicolaus Kruse from nearby Wesselburen. Along with their children, they emigrated to Mayville, WI, in the mid 1800's. I'm wondering if others of her family did, also. If this fits with any others of you with Denmark connections, please respond. Thanks.
