Wm Roggow B 1854 Prussia/Germany
My gggrandpa was William C. Roggow B: Feb 27, 1854 in Germany. He was only 16 when he Arrived March 16, 1870 on the ship Hansa, Bemen Havre. I'm sure he came over or stayed with family here being only 16.
He was granted citizenship in 1879 with a Carl Matznick and Christeffel Stern as witnesses.
He married Margareth Flurry from Swtizerland and had 5 children: Minnie, Anna, William, Carl John, August and Ernestine.
I have cooresponded with someone who’s relative is an Anernestine/Ernestine Roggow who might have been William C. Roggow's aunt (though possibly his way elder sister) and was born about 1835 in Germany. She and her husband Christian Schroeder(from most of the family stories he heard) remained in Germany. Their son, August Schroeder, came to the States about 1881 where he married Louis Fischer in Illinois. He believed August possibly came to live in the same area that William Roggow was living at the time which is possibly why William was a witness to August's marriage. And also possibly why my William C. Roggow named two of his kids August and Ernestine (after his cousin and aunt?).
I am trying to find any information on family that may have been here when my Wm Roggow arrived. We have been unable to get past him to his parents.
