I've found there HIWASSEE LAND DEEDS of some of my FRENCH family of JULIANS with the CHEROKEE and some ROGERS. These are not my ROGERS that we can determine, but the JULIANS are my family. So that others may have these land deeds as well, I will post but remember that many WHITE INTRUDERS into the CHEROKEE TERRITORY started before the 1820 treaty was signed by the Cherokee. So many names may be WHITE settlers nad not Cherokee. The names I associated with the CHEROKEE though are FIELDS, ROGERS and others but more research needed to determine which FIELDS names and ROGERS are Cherokee and not white settlers. - Tina ********************************************** MONROE Co. TN and McMINN Co. TN DEEDS included : ( my GGG Grandmother is BARBARA JULIAN MURRAY shown as BARBER MURRIES on this deed, and she is FRENCH not Cherokee. - Tina ) Monroe Co. TN Deed Book B 1824 - 1832 Page 81, Nov. 45 ROBERT FIELDS to heirs of SAMUEL CATE for $80, approx. 40 acres, on Pond Creek, NE corner adj. BARBER MURRIES line to Mud Creek to JOHN BAILEYS spring to JAMES WITTERS. ROBERT FIELDS ( SEAL ) Attest : S. Y. JAMESON SAMUEL JAMESON Certified : 10 October, 1829 ************************************************ ISHAM JULIAN b. 1795 Randolph Co. NC is distant cousin of my GGG Grandmother, BARBARA JULIAN who md. ALEXANDER MURRAY in Randolph Co. NC and later lived in Monroe Co. TN in 1830. We also know that a JONAS ROGERS is shown in the 1810 RANDOLPH CO. NC Census on same page with an ALLEN ROGERS. Also listed in same 1810 Randolph Co. NC on another page is an older RANDLE ROGERS. We believe these ROGERS may be connected to a ZACHARIAH ROGERS of ROWAN CO. CN who died there in 1837 and left his 1837 ROWAN CO. NC will naming Randol and Allen Rogers in the will. Unknown is whether this is same JONAS ROGERS on this deed. Only a JONES ROGERS is shown on the 1830 Monroe Co. NC Census, and unless that is a misspelling of the name of JONAS, we can't explain where JONAS ROGERS lived in 1830. - Tina ________________________________________ Shown in the Monroe Co.
