William L. Rogers is my GGG Grandfather, and his son Basil is my GG Grandfather.
Do you know who JONATHAN ROGERS might be listed in District # 9 with Mitchell and the others ?
Some of our DNA MATCHES are with the ROGERS of LAURENS Co. SC who came into Lincoln Co. TN and later are in Greene Co. MO. Naming patterns in both our lines included GREEN BERRY ROGERS names, and we see those names also listed in the MS Rogers as well. We are looking for a direct male line of George Rogers and his son William Riley Rogers of Tippah Co. MS who would be willing to do DNA TESTING as well. So far no one has come forward.
William L. Rogers son, William Riley Rogers b. 1805 Montgomery Co. NC while the TIPPAH CO. MS William Riley Rogers b. abt. 1805 TN. Some of the TIPPAH Co. MS ROGERS were also in western regions of TN prior to migrating back down to MS. We see some of the ANSON Co. NC ROGERS in same county of TN where the Tippah Co. MS ROGERS were as well.
What else can you tell me about LITTLETON ROGERS who seemed to be in same Dist. # 17 as our Rogers and as the other TOBIAS W. ROGERS ( possibly of Chatham Co. NC ) as we don't see files for Littleton Rogers after this 1836 Carroll Co. TN Tax List, or I haven't yet found them if they do exist.
