We need information on the following ROGERS who don't seem to be in our ROGERS line living in Dist. # 16 ( James ) and Dist. # 17 ( Frederick, Basil, Ezekiel, William R, and their father, William or as we have him listed per his deed, William L. Rogers b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC ). :

CARROLL Co. TN 1836 TAX LIST
Abbreviations : Dist. ( District) ; A – Acres, TL, Town Lot, S Slave, W White Poll, and DT. Double Tax, not having given in on time according to law.
CARROLL County is one of the original counties formed in 1821 from Western District; it has changed boundaries very little, although a slight adjustment in the northwest corner now puts some land in WEAKLEY County. Thomas Hamilton, John Killough, T. F. Ellin and Stephen Eason were appointed Commissioners to divide the county into Civil Districts & establish election sites. They completed their report 22 Jan. 1836, giving the description of boundaries as follows : ( ROGERS are only ones I listed )

DISTRICT 3 – Begins at the northwest corner of Dist. #2, runs north to the northwest corner of the county, thence east with the county line to the Range line between R2 and R3, thence south with said line to Beaver Creek, thence down said creek and the South Fork to the beginning. Elections will be at Christmasville.

DISTRICT 9 – Begins at the southeast corner of Dist. #4, runs up Beaver Cr. To the line dividing the 74th and 99th Regts., thence north with the same to county line. Thence west with same to the northeast corner of Dist. #4, thence with east boundary of the same to the beginning. Elections to be held at William S. New’s.

Elections at Daniel SHOFNER’s.

DISTRICT 15 – Begins at the bridge where the McKee Road crosses NESBIT’s Creek, runs east with said road to Sandy River, thence up said River to FLEWELIN’s bridge, thence with the Perryville Road towards Huntingdon to the BELL Raod, thence northward with the east boundary of Dist. #12 to the beginning. Elections to be held at James JONE’s.

DISTRICT 16 – Begins at the southeast corner of Dist. #14 where the McKee Road crosses the Humphreys County line, runs west with said raod to the dividing ridge between Sandy River & Crooked Creek, thence north with said ridge to the head of the north prong of Hollow Rock Creek, thence down said prong & Hollow Rock Creek to the Humphreys County line, thence south with the said line to the beginning. Elections to be held at Esqr. MOORE’s store.

( JAMES ROGERS in Dist. #16 is son of William L. Rogers as he married ARAMINTA GREEN whose parents also lived in Dist. # 16 ( Aaron Green ). Our other ROGERS mainly lived in Dist. #17 and were Frederick, Basil, Ezekiel, William R., William Rogers. )
