I AM VERY INTERESTED in learning more on MICAJAH / MACAJAH / MICHAEL ROGERS b. abt. 1785 NC who is in the 1850 Carroll Co. TN Census with wife MARY and possible son named JOHN ROGERS living next door to them.
Found on the 1850 Carroll Co. TN census are :

M. ROGERS age 65 M born in NC ( Micajah Rogers b. abt. 1785 NC ? )
Mary Rogers age 65 F born in NC
Martha Swayne age 35 F born in NC
Ambrous B. Swayne age 2 M born in TN
Living in next household is :
HH 1948
JOHN ROGERS age 32 M born in NC
Mahala Rogers age 33 F born in NC
JAMES M. ROGERS age 9 M born in TN

We see that Micajah Rogers is listed as MICHAEL ROGERS in the 1830 Carroll Co. TN and by 1840 he is listed as MICAJAH and in 1850 Carroll Co. TN he is simply shown as M. ROGERS with wife MARY.
Can anyone tell me which ROGERS line this man is from for our William L. Rogers b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC had wife NANCY and she was born in 1775 NC and was 10 years old when MICAJAH ROGERS was born in 1785 NC so Micajah Rogers could not be their son. William L. Rogers and wife Nancy are my GGG Grandparents, yet we find that all these ROGERS family had SWAYNES living with them in the 1850 Carroll Co. TN census ( Swaynes are in the JOHN ROGERS household next to Micajah and Mary Rogers in 1850 and SWAYNES are in our BASIL ROGERS family as well as in his brother JOSHUA A. G. ROGERS family. The SWAYNES are listed having been born in NC too but we find no SWAYNES listed in our ROGERS family as relatives and we don't see that name in the region of Montgomery Co. NC where our ROGERS lived, or I have yet to find them there.
ROGERS in CARROLL CO. TN are numerous and not many have been sorted out enough to tell if they are all one large group of ROGERS out of NC or simply splinter groups of one main line of Rogers or yet unrelated as ROGERS.
Our WILLIAM L. ROGERS line is now DNA tested and we match a large group of ROGERS who were verified being in Surry Co. VA, Pitt Co. NC, Edgecombe Co. NC, Isle of Wight, Montgomery and Anson Co.NC, as well as in Laurens Co. SC and other regions in SC and GA as well as in AL/ MS/ TN and later in AR/ TX.
Anyone have good info on the rest of the ROGERS out of NC who were in CARROLL CO. TN by about 1830 -1840 ? We need to sort these lines out to know if we are all one large group of the ROGERS in our DNA GROUP who all seem to match the SURRY CO. VA line of John Rogers and Mary Atkins. We see some of their descendants also were in CHATHAM Co. NC which is nearby to Montgomery Co. NC and we see similar given names of same Chatham Co. NC Rogers and the Surry Co. VA ROGERS are in the later Anson Co. NC census's as well, but JOB ROGERS of ANSON CO. NC is out of the WAKE Co. VA line of RHODE ISLAND ROGERS and is not a DNA MATCH with our ROGERS in Anson and Montgomery Co. NC.
Any help appreciated with the ROGERS in Carroll Co. TN and those they may connect to in NC prior to moving into TN.
CARROLL CO. TN Court Records I have show that the TOBIAS W. ROGERS and wife SARAH who had children named CHRISTIANA ROGERS WELLS ( wife of JAMES F. WELLS ) ; H. PINKSTON is the son in law of TOBIAS W. ROGERS of Carroll Co. TN. ISAHAM ROGERS is son of TOBIAS W. ROGERS of Carroll Co. TN.
Our WILLIAM L. ROGERS had following known children who also resided in Carroll Co. TN after moving there from Montgomery Co. NC and were ;

We have most of these children of William L. Rogers and Nancy verified but we need more info on the other ROGERS groups in CARROLL CO. TN who may or may not be related to our ROGERS such as :
