Kevin,I have a copy of a James Rogers Sr who came from the Carolina Area in 1801. The 1830, 40 and 50 Census has a James Rogers living in the Jefferson County and purchasing land in 1851. I show his death in 1852. The 1850 Census showed a James Rogers age 74. Children are Drury, Willis(my GGGGrandfather), William, Mary Ann, Nancy, Lucy, Minerva, John Franklin, Thomas F. If you can help in verifing his death this may help. I have yet been able to get to Jefferson Co Library to gather information. Drury and Willis witnessed the Will and naming Nancy of VA, his wife, as executor of the will.
