Just to Update this earlier posting...it has now been proven that this John MOODY (whether he be a "Jr." or not is not proven) but he was NOT a son of the Rev. John Moody of New Hampshire. That Rev. John only had but one child and she was a daughter. I have copies of his will and other various details from the NH records stating as such.
My new theory is that Perhaps this John MOODY who married Tamsin/Tamson/Thomsin ROGERS/Rodgers in Oct. 1751 Boston, MA, could be a son of a John MOODIE/Moody and Mary Jean (called Jean in the record)MASTERTON who ~may~ have come from Scotland to New Jersey after their marriage in 1742 Ediburgh area of Scotland.
(that is from the OPR's of Edinburgh).
There is speculation that this John Moodie/Moody and wife Mary Jean had sons named James and John Moody.
It is possible that Jean Masterton was John's 1st wife and that his 2nd wife was this Tamsin Rogers. No one seems to know a thing about this couple so I post this here in hopes that now several years later someone has further knowledge of them.
I have John and Tamsin Moody's records in Nova Scotia so am wondering if perhaps they are not part of our Ydna Moody family to whom my Ydna family of Maine has an exact link to.
My Nova Scotia Moody cousins claim to be descended from a James MOODY of New Jersey who came to Nova Scotia by c1763 I believe. He was however married to Sarah BAKER.
Their James MOODY might be the son of the John MOODIE and Mary Jean Masterton however that it has also been rumoured came to New Jersey but I've found no proof of this so far.
I have seen that John Moody and Tamsin Rogers had daughters named Sarah and Jane/Jean?If this is true daughter Sarah may be the one who married William DOVE in Nova Scotia and daughter Jane/Jean may be the one who married William BRABINER and this couple named a daughter Jane Thomasin BRABINER which again could be a good clue to the link.
We only know for certain at this point that our Ydna Moody family in Nova Scotia links to Thomas MOODY and Eleanor PHINNEY which is documented.
They believe that their Thomas was a son or possible grandson to the James MOODY and Sarah BAKER whom are their earliest ancestors that came to Nova Scotia supposedly from New Jersey (from a deed they have in their possession that they cannot seem to locate just now).
They do NOT link to the Lt. James MOODY of Little Egg Harbor, NJ who was the Loyalist that also went to Nova Scotia as that has been proven by Ydna results so that is not the same family line.
If anyone has further details of this John MOODY and wife Tamsin ROGERS I would be Most greatful for anything at all.
Thank You.
