Hi again!I've been busily going over and over my own research and we only disagree on one point and that's Charles vs. William as Pleasant's father.I need to know what documentation that you have that proves that William is his dad rather than Charles. All I've seen in your messages to this point is supposition, possible coincidence, and a great need to be believed. There's no indication in the 1850 census of one's father or where one's parents were born. There's no listing of spouse or children's names.Charles, being Cherokee and married to a Cherokee might not have been thought to be 'human' enough to be placed on the white man's government census sheets. There's a train of thought, too, that states that the Hickmans also have some Indian lineage.Emmett Starr's book shows Pleasant as Charles' and Nannie's son via the Cherokee rolls and goes on to place Pleasant with Phoebe. There's a connection in my family of two sets of Rogers/Rodgers...SAMUEL PLEASANT RODGERS having married Pleasant's grand-daughter and his census form states that he was born in Oklahoma.Help?
