I realize that you have not mentioned my "brick wall's" name, but I thought I would ask you about him.His name is Thomas Cole Rogers. He was born in Virginia Sept. 18, 1814.Tradition says that his father was about to set him up as an apprentice to a saddle maker who Thomas Cole Rogers hated. He took a horse from his family and ran away. The first records we have on him is in Madison and Leake Co. Mississippi about 1846. Estamating the age of 14 yrs. to be an apprentice, he might have left VI. about 1832. He married Sicily Cobb, was a farmer and land owner and had a large family, which eventualy moved to Arkansas.
Here comes the long shot!Looking at a map of the US, tracing a line from central VI. to central MS.He might had gone through the Northern third of ALabama. Seeing that you had Rogers in that area, I was wondering if he could have been related. Looking at your names and dates and the mention of Virginia in some of your posts, I have to ask if any of this could connect to your Rogers line.I realize you are struggling with your own "brick walls", but I just had to ask. Thanks for any help you can offer.
