ROBERT ROGERS/LUCY PARISH
· I am seeking information about Robert Rogers and Lucy Parrish but the following is what has, so far, surfaced.
· This Rogers family may have been from Granville or Halifax Counties, NC.
Robert Rogers was born in NC about 1770 and died after 1840 but before 1850.He is found living in the Captain Chisholm District in Morgan County, GA on the 1820 census and in the Fairplay District of Morgan County (1830 census). He is married to Lucy Parrish. They are possibly Primitive Baptist farmers.
Robert's & Lucy's children were:
· Anna Rogers, married to Horace Mallory, 28 Mar 1826 in Morgan County, GA.She was born circa 1793.
· Reuben John (Buck) Rogers was married to Elizabeth (Betsy) Watters (her mother’s maiden name was Radford). He was born 12 Jul 1794, most likely in GA and died in 1848 while he was riding his mule from the grist mill when he fell dead near the Swan home in Perryville AL.He had VHL and passed it along to me.She was born 14 Jan 1804 in Oglethorpe County, GA and died 25 Nov 1892 in Perry County, AL.They married 13 Oct 1819 in Dallas County, AL.She is buried in the family cemetery across the road from the Samuel Watters home. This heritage found in a book in the Dallas TX Library concerning Perry County, AL (article by Dori Warnock and the author's personal correspondence with her).It was because of family books about the Watters family that I found this information.
