Hi its very interesting to hear your posting. I'll tell you something I just found out in my research which I thought was bizarre. In doing research on my Great Grandparents on my mothers side, I finally found them in the 1920 pennsylvania census. They immigrated to U.S. in 1917 Their names are CARL ROESLER and MARIA ROESLER. And their two daughters, Helen and Rose. The weird thing is when I looked at their birthplaces, it said that the oldest daughter (six at the time) had been born in Brazil. But they were all from Germany. Why would someone take there family from germany to Brazil, then to the U.S.? They may have lived in Brazil. Thats why when I saw your posting, I was surprised to see other Roeslers in Brazil.

Can you provide information as to what attracted Germans to Brazil before 1917? Thanks
