Hello Erwin,
I am sorry that I am so slow in making a query to your posting, but just came across this web site, and also just learned recently that I am related to the Roemmich family.Based on various data posted on the internet, it seems that my ancestors include a Catharina Romich (or Roemmich), born about 1600 somewhere in the Rheinland-Pfalz.She married Diedrich Hermanni.Catharina's father was Lorenz Romich, born about 1575, and his father was Andreas Romich, born about 1550.The data that I saw on these people was not clear as to their precise birthplaces.
One reason that your posting was interesting to me was that the son of Diedrich Hermanni and Catharina Romich, named Philipp Karl Hermanni, died 11 Mar 1720 in Edenkoben, your home town.I don't don't where he was born. His wife's name was Anna Barbara Hammelmann. She may or may not have been from Edenkoben.I don't know the names of her parents.
Within a generation or so after Philipp Hermanni, my ancestors would move to the Neustadt, Haardt, Gimmeldingen, and Hassloch area.Looking at Edenkoben on the map, it appears to be about 15 miles south of Neustadt.
Do you happen to have any related information on the people that I mentioned, either members of the Romich family or other people who are Edenkoben people who may also be my ancestors. If it is more convenient, you can contact me directly by e-mail.
