I wonder if you are descended from either Jacob or Henry Romer (Roemer or Roomer) who came to America from Switzerland on or before 1747 and settled in Weschester and Putnam Counties. Jacob and Henry were supposedly brothers but no proof to date exists. Jacob married Frena Haarlager; Henry married Marritje Gardenier. Their sons were active in the Revolutionary War. I'm descended from Henry. Any of this sound familiar?
