I just pulled some Ship Records from Ancestry.com. Appears that the same Andrew Roeder at age 29 arrived in New York on a ship. It says his parents and he both were born in Prussia and that he was a shepherd by trade. I am now trying to match him to a Naturalization record in Kings County, New York, some years later. It may not be the same Andrew Roeder. He is my gtgtgdfather as well. I descend through his daughter Caroline who married Ira Andrew Howell.
