I have a book that once belonged to Ludwig Heinrich Roeder and his wife Maria Elisabeth Scherer of Bath, PA. If anyone would like a digital photo of the following inscription, I would be happy to email it to you. It contains information on the birth dates of their children as well as the date of Ludwig Hennrich Roeder's death. On the inside front cover, the following is written in German...

auf diese Welt gebohren worden Gott Gäbe ihr eine
selige stunde zu leben und zu sterben in dem Hern Jesu.

1778. Den 14. feberwahri ist Mein Sohn auf dise
Welt gebohren worden Mit dem Nahmen heist er
Johann Hennrich Rödter Gott gebe ihm eine selige
Stunde zu läben und zu sterben durch jesum
Christum amen.

1779. Der Vatter ist gestorben den 15 Märtz —
Lutwig Rödter Hennrich Rödter Gott gäbe ihm
Ein sählige Himmelfahrt und eine auf Erstehung
zu dem Herrn Jesum Christum Amen. Daß
gäbe ihm und uns all Miteinander daß wir alle
wann wir auß diesem Jammer Thahl abschit Nehmen
in daß Himmlische Jerusalem Beyeinander wider
sehen und ihn Herlichkeit witer anschauen bey dem
Herrn Jesum Christum in Ewiger Freude anschauen.
Translation:
Lutwig Hennrich Rödter’s Children
1775. On February 22, my daughter was born into this world. She was given the name Anna Maria.

1777. On February 17, my daughter Margräta was born into this world. God grant her a blessed life and death in the Lord Jesus.

1778. On February 14, my son was born into this world. His name is Johann Hennrich Rödter. God grant him a blessed life and death through Jesus Christ. Amen.

1779. Father died on March 15 — Lutwig Rödter Hennrich Rödter. Got grant him a blessed ascension into Heaven and resurrection in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Grant that he, and all of us together, when we depart this vale of tears, shall meet again in the heavenly Jerusalem and continue to behold one other in glory with the Lord Jesus Christ in eternal joy.
